Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and security-minded Night Audit Porter to join our dedicated team at Hilton Abingdon-on-Thames. This crucial overnight role combines essential financial auditing tasks with vital security responsibilities and traditional porter duties, ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our hotel during late hours. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for guests overnight, managing front desk operations, processing financial reports, conducting security rounds, and assisting guests with requests. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach to security, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate daily financial audits, balancing accounts, and preparing reports for management.
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs, reservations, and general inquiries during the night shift.
- Conduct regular security patrols of the hotel premises, monitoring CCTV, and ensuring the safety and security of guests and property.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, emergencies, and complaints, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
- Assist guests with luggage, parking, and other porterage duties as required.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain accurate records of all financial activities.
- Prepare wake-up calls and deliver newspapers or amenities as requested.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby area.
- Act as a first responder in emergency situations, coordinating with relevant services as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to handle financial transactions and perform basic accounting tasks with accuracy.
- Strong understanding of security protocols and ability to act discreetly and effectively in security-related situations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency with hotel management software (e.g., Opera PMS) or similar systems.
- Physical stamina to perform regular patrols, lift luggage, and stand for extended periods.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ years) in a hotel night audit, front desk, or security role.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations.
- First Aid and/or security training certification.
- A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and holidays.
