Job Description
Are you looking for a fulfilling seasonal job amidst the picturesque landscapes of the ‘Garden of England’? BerryWorld Group is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Fruit Harvesters to join our team for the upcoming harvest season in Kent. While our recruitment hub is conveniently located in Hove, Brighton, the core work will take place on our beautiful Kentish farms. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are physically active, and want to contribute to bringing fresh, high-quality fruit to tables across the UK. No prior experience is necessary; we provide all the training you’ll need to become a successful fruit harvester. Key Responsibilities
- Carefully pick various soft fruits (e.g., strawberries, raspberries, blueberries) according to quality standards.
- Sort and pack harvested fruit efficiently and accurately into designated containers.
- Monitor fruit quality and report any issues or defects to supervisors.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations on the farm.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily harvesting targets.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Adapt to changing weather conditions and work requirements.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting light loads, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (sun, rain, wind).
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- No previous experience required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agricultural work, fruit picking, or similar outdoor labour.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Access to reliable transportation (though transport assistance from Hove to Kent farms may be arranged).
