Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Music Copyright Specialist with a strong focus on Intellectual Property to join our legal and business affairs team. This stable, full-time position is critical for managing and protecting our extensive catalog of musical works. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of copyright law, particularly as it applies to music, and will be responsible for a range of tasks from rights registration to infringement monitoring. You will play a vital role in upholding the integrity of our intellectual property and supporting our songwriters and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the registration of musical works with relevant copyright offices worldwide.
  • Conduct thorough research on copyright ownership and licensing history for musical compositions.
  • Monitor for potential copyright infringements across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of various music licensing agreements (sync, mechanical, public performance).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date copyright databases and metadata.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel on complex copyright issues and enforcement actions.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding copyright best practices and compliance.
  • Stay current with changes in copyright law and industry standards.
