Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Marine Fuel Dock Attendant for the upcoming boating season. This seasonal position offers the unique opportunity to work outdoors by the water, assisting boaters with fueling, docking, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Operate fuel pumps safely and efficiently, dispensing fuel to various types of marine vessels.
- Assist boaters with docking and undocking procedures, providing clear instructions and physical assistance as needed.
- Process payments for fuel, supplies, and other marina services accurately using a POS system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fuel dock area, including spill prevention and cleanup.
- Monitor fuel levels and report discrepancies or low stock to management.
- Provide information to customers regarding marina services, local attractions, and boating regulations.
- Perform basic maintenance checks on dock equipment and report any issues.
- Ensure a safe environment for all customers and staff by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist with minor retail sales of marine supplies and refreshments.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
- Basic math skills for processing payments and managing transactions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a marina, gas station, or customer service role.
- Knowledge of basic boating terminology and safety.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
