Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally astute Luxury Brand Translator with a strong focus on fashion to join our remote team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining Prada’s distinctive voice and brand image across diverse linguistic and cultural landscapes. You will be responsible for translating a wide range of content, including marketing materials, press releases, website copy, product descriptions, and internal communications, ensuring accuracy, stylistic consistency, and cultural relevance. This role is 100% remote, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to a world-renowned brand from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate and localize various types of content, including product descriptions, marketing campaigns, website copy, social media posts, press releases, and internal documents, from English into target languages (and vice-versa as needed).
- Ensure all translated content accurately reflects Prada’s brand voice, tone, and specific fashion terminology, maintaining a high level of quality and cultural appropriateness.
- Conduct thorough research on fashion trends, luxury market terminology, and cultural nuances to inform precise and impactful translations.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, e-commerce, and communications teams to understand project requirements and ensure timely delivery of translated materials.
- Maintain and update translation memories, glossaries, and style guides to ensure consistency across all brand communications.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of translated content, including proofreading and editing, to eliminate errors and ensure linguistic excellence.
- Adapt content for specific regional markets, considering local customs, regulations, and consumer preferences.
- Provide linguistic support and expertise for various brand initiatives and projects.
Required Skills
- Exceptional fluency in English and at least one additional target language (e.g., Italian, French, Mandarin, Japanese, German, Spanish). Please specify your primary target language(s) in your application.
- Proven experience as a professional translator, preferably within the luxury, fashion, or lifestyle sectors.
- Deep understanding of fashion terminology, industry trends, and luxury brand communication styles.
- Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills in all working languages.
- Proficiency in translation memory software (CAT tools) such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, or similar.
- Strong cultural awareness and ability to adapt content for diverse audiences.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and linguistic quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Modern Languages, Fashion Communication, or a related field.
- Certification in translation from a recognized institution.
- Experience working with a global luxury brand or a leading fashion house.
- Knowledge of SEO localization best practices.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
