Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Logistics Tally Clerk to join our Milwaukee warehouse team. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the smooth flow of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, meticulously tallying items, and reporting any discrepancies. This position requires a strong focus on warehouse operations and excellent organizational skills, with no phone call responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately count and verify all incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests, purchase orders, and other documentation.
- Identify and report any discrepancies in quantity, quality, or product specifications immediately to the supervisor.
- Maintain organized and accurate physical and digital records of all tallied items and transactions.
- Assist with inventory counts and contribute to maintaining an accurate inventory management system.
- Label and organize items within the warehouse as needed to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (certification provided if needed) in a safe manner.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure operational efficiency and team success.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform accurate counts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and labels.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and carry items for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Certification for operating a forklift or other warehouse equipment.
