Job Description
We are seeking motivated and safety-conscious Class A CDL drivers for immediate hire. If you’ve recently obtained your Class A CDL or are an experienced driver looking for a new opportunity, we invite you to join our dedicated team. This position offers consistent routes, competitive pay, and the chance to start earning quickly after completing our comprehensive orientation program. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, adhering to all federal and company regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles and trailers; report any defects or safety concerns.
- Secure cargo properly for transport, ensuring compliance with load securement guidelines.
- Deliver goods to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and all required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record.
- Represent Ryder System Inc. professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT safety regulations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Hazmat or Tanker endorsements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
