Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team in New Port Richey, Florida. As a Full-Time Days Nursing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care, supporting our nursing staff, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for our patients. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Measure and record vital signs, intake and output, and blood glucose levels accurately.
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document patient observations, care provided, and changes in condition clearly and concisely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment.
- Respond to patient call lights promptly and courteously.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
Required Skills
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong empathy and a patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move patients and equipment as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting or hospital
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
