Job Description

We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Creative Arts Director to lead and expand our comprehensive arts programs across the Boys & Girls Clubs of Inland Valley. This pivotal leadership role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing innovative arts initiatives that engage and empower youth from diverse backgrounds. The Creative Arts Director will champion the importance of artistic expression, foster a vibrant creative community, and ensure our programs align with our mission to build character, self-esteem, and critical life skills through the arts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive curriculum of creative arts programs, including visual arts, performing arts, digital media, and music.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a team of arts educators, volunteers, and program staff.
  • Manage the arts program budget, including resource allocation, supply procurement, and financial reporting.
  • Cultivate partnerships with local artists, arts organizations, schools, and community groups to enrich program offerings and outreach.
  • Organize and showcase youth artwork and performances through exhibitions, recitals, and community events.
  • Integrate arts programming with other club initiatives, promoting holistic youth development.
  • Seek and secure grant funding and sponsorships specifically for arts programs, working closely with the development team.
  • Ensure program compliance with all organizational policies, safety standards, and grant requirements.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes, utilizing data to assess impact and inform future planning.
  • Serve as a passionate advocate for the arts within the organization and the broader community.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in arts program development, management, or education, preferably in a non-profit or youth-serving organization.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise across multiple artistic disciplines (e.g., visual arts, music, dance, theater).
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to inspire creativity and foster a positive, inclusive environment for youth.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and experience with program management tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Arts Management, Fine Arts, Arts Education, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant artistic or educational discipline.
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising for arts programs.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and best practices in informal learning environments.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Experience working with diverse youth populations and underserved communities.
