Job Description
Join the dedicated team at Reh-Fit Centre as a Hydrotherapy Aide and play a crucial role in our patients’ recovery journeys. This full-time position offers stable income and the opportunity to work in a supportive private rehabilitation environment. As a Hydrotherapy Aide, you will assist therapists in delivering water-based exercises and therapeutic interventions, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining the hydrotherapy area. Your contribution will directly impact the quality of care our patients receive, helping them regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall physical function.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals in preparing and conducting hydrotherapy sessions.
- Guide patients through prescribed exercises in the water, ensuring correct form and technique.
- Monitor patients' well-being and progress during sessions, reporting any concerns to the supervising therapist.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety protocols for the hydrotherapy pool and surrounding areas, including equipment.
- Prepare and organize hydrotherapy equipment before and after sessions.
- Assist patients with transfers in and out of the pool, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Document session details and patient observations as required.
- Provide compassionate support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation process.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and assist patients.
- Comfortable working in a water environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a therapy aide, personal care aide, or in a related healthcare support role.
- Certification in a relevant field (e.g., Kinesiology assistant, Health Care Aide).
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and common rehabilitation principles.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including those with mobility challenges.
