Job Description
Are you under 21, eager to start your career in hospitality, and looking for an opportunity to learn and grow? Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Hotel Porter. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with a can-do attitude who is keen to develop their skills with full training and mentorship provided. You will be an integral part of our front-of-house team, ensuring our guests have a smooth and enjoyable stay from the moment they arrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests with luggage upon arrival and departure.
- Escort guests to their rooms, explaining hotel facilities and services.
- Handle guest inquiries and requests efficiently and courteously.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel lobby and entrance areas.
- Assist with the delivery of items to guest rooms, such as newspapers or room service.
- Support other hotel departments as needed, including front desk or concierge.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
- Learn and adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Under 21 years of age.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry luggage.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience (even in a non-hospitality setting) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of the local area and attractions.
- A full, clean UK driving license is desirable but not essential.
