Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Hotel Porter to join our dedicated team at The Greenbank Hotel. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a luxury guest experience, with the added benefit of a 4-day work week option to support a healthy work-life balance. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, ensuring guests have a smooth and pleasant arrival, stay, and departure. You will assist with luggage, provide information, and maintain the cleanliness and order of public areas, all while upholding the high standards of The Greenbank Hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist with luggage handling to and from rooms.
- Escort guests to their rooms, providing information about hotel facilities and local attractions.
- Assist guests with enquiries, directions, and transportation arrangements.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel lobby, entrance, and public areas.
- Handle deliveries and parcels, ensuring efficient distribution.
- Support other hotel departments as needed, including concierge and reception.
- Ensure security protocols are followed and report any suspicious activity.
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all guests and visitors.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A friendly, professional, and welcoming demeanour.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry luggage.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Basic knowledge of hotel operations or a strong desire to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service role.
- Knowledge of Falmouth and the surrounding Cornwall area.
- A valid UK driving license.
- First Aid certification.
