Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and driven Junior App Developer with a keen interest in streaming media and entertainment platforms, particularly with a ‘Netflix focus.’ This is a fully remote (Work From Home) opportunity to join our dynamic app development team. As a Junior App Developer, you will be instrumental in assisting with the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms. You will work closely with senior developers, product managers, and designers to bring innovative features to life, focusing on creating seamless and engaging user experiences for content consumption.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior developers to design, develop, and test new features for iOS and Android applications, with an emphasis on streaming and content delivery.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Swift/Objective-C for iOS and Kotlin/Java for Android.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure high code quality.
- Debug and troubleshoot application issues, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
- Contribute to the entire application lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile technology trends, tools, and best practices, particularly in the streaming media space.
- Assist in the integration of third-party APIs and services relevant to media playback and user engagement.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one modern mobile development language (Swift/Objective-C for iOS or Kotlin/Java for Android).
- Basic understanding of mobile application architecture patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect mobile applications to back-end services.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience with UI/UX principles and designing intuitive user interfaces.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Personal projects or contributions to open-source mobile applications.
- An active interest in streaming technology, video codecs, and media playback on mobile devices.
