Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and diligent individuals to join our team as Hops Pickers and Brewery Support Staff. This hands-on role is crucial to maintaining the quality and character of our traditional brews. You will be directly involved in the careful selection and harvesting of hops, ensuring only the best make it into our brewing process. Beyond hops picking, you will assist with various general brewery tasks, gaining valuable insight into the craft brewing industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a keen eye for detail, and is eager to contribute to a passionate team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carefully harvest and pick hops by hand, ensuring quality and ripeness.
  • Inspect hops for consistency, colour, and aroma, adhering to strict quality standards.
  • Assist with the sorting, drying, and storage of harvested hops.
  • Support general brewery operations, including cleaning and sanitising equipment.
  • Help with basic maintenance tasks around the brewery and hop fields.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, often outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agricultural work, horticulture, or manual labour.
  • An interest in craft beer and the brewing process.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 25kg).
  • Full UK driving license.
