Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Petroleum / Reservoir Engineer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of reservoir engineering principles, advanced simulation techniques, and a proven track record in optimizing oil and gas recovery. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading complex reservoir studies, developing production strategies, and providing expert technical guidance to multidisciplinary project teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute comprehensive reservoir engineering studies, including material balance, decline curve analysis, and well test interpretation.
- Develop, calibrate, and utilize reservoir simulation models to forecast production, optimize recovery, and evaluate various development scenarios.
- Provide expert technical advice on reservoir management, well placement, and production optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production engineers to integrate subsurface data and ensure cohesive project execution.
- Perform economic evaluations of new projects and existing assets, assessing risks and opportunities.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Prepare and present technical reports, recommendations, and project updates to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in reservoir engineering.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG, Petrel Reservoir Engineering).
- Strong understanding of fluid flow in porous media, well testing, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) mechanisms.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and deliver actionable insights.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with unconventional reservoir characterization and simulation.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for reservoir data analysis.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Experience in diverse geological settings and international projects.
