Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Home-Based Audio Typist to join our team. This is a crucial role that supports our administrative and medical departments by accurately transcribing audio recordings into written documents. The ideal candidate will possess excellent listening skills, fast and accurate typing abilities, and a strong understanding of medical or administrative terminology. This fully remote position offers the flexibility of morning or night shifts to accommodate various schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio recordings of dictations, meetings, and other spoken materials into accurate written documents.
- Proofread and edit typed documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and factual errors.
- Ensure all transcribed documents adhere to established quality standards and formatting guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information.
- Manage workflow effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding any challenges or questions.
- Utilize transcription software and other relevant tools efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in audio transcription software and tools.
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM).
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Exceptional listening skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a home-based environment.
- Basic computer literacy and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in medical transcription or general audio typing.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
- Experience with secure data handling and HIPAA compliance.
- Associate’s degree or relevant certification in medical transcription or office administration.
