Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Inventory Hands to join our FedEx Ground team in Midway, Saint Paul. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the accurate handling, scanning, and tracking of packages within our fast-paced distribution center. This position requires a high degree of precision, the ability to work effectively in a team, and flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends. Your contribution ensures the efficient flow of packages and the reliability of our delivery network.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately scan, sort, load, and unload packages by hand, ensuring correct routing and placement.
- Operate package handling equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks), as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Verify package information, including labels, destinations, and weights, to ensure high accuracy.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to prevent accidents and ensure operational integrity.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity and accuracy goals.
- Perform physical tasks consistently, including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted, and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic literacy skills (ability to read and understand package labels and instructions).
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for shift work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or package handling environment.
- Familiarity with scanning technology and inventory management systems.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
