Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Head Chef or Sous Chef to join our esteemed culinary team in Enfield, London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated chef looking to advance their career within a renowned restaurant group. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to manage kitchen operations, mentor junior staff, and ensure all health and safety regulations are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage kitchen operations during service, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes, adhering to The Ivy Collection's exacting standards.
- Manage kitchen inventory, stock rotation, and ordering to minimize waste and optimize costs.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials, demonstrating creativity and culinary innovation.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional culinary skills with a deep understanding of British and European cuisine.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Creativity and passion for food.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent professional culinary qualification.
- Experience with fine dining or high-end brasserie concepts.
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques.
- Previous experience in a restaurant that has held accolades (e.g., Michelin, AA Rosettes).
