Job Description
Are you a high-energy individual with a passion for precision and speed? DoorDash is seeking a dedicated and efficient Ghost Kitchen Expo / Order Expediter to join our team in Gastown, Vancouver. In this critical on-site role, you will be the lynchpin connecting our innovative ghost kitchen operations with our network of delivery partners. You will be responsible for ensuring every order is perfect, packed correctly, and dispatched promptly, leveraging cutting-edge technology to maintain seamless workflow in a demanding, fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately review and verify all outgoing food orders against digital manifests to ensure completeness and correctness.
- Efficiently manage the order staging area, organizing completed orders for seamless pickup by delivery drivers.
- Utilize proprietary dispatch software to track order status, communicate with kitchen staff, and alert delivery partners.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization at the expo station, adhering to all food safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues related to order discrepancies or delays in a calm and effective manner.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with kitchen team members and delivery drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor inventory of packaging materials and communicate needs to management.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced, and technology-driven environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, especially under pressure.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency or comfort with digital order management systems and tablets.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Proven reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an expo, expediter, or in a similar high-volume food service role.
- Familiarity with ghost kitchen operations or food delivery platforms.
- Basic food handler certification.
