Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Katy, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to contribute to diverse and impactful infrastructure projects, from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geotechnical design, analysis, and field investigations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, stability, and cost-effectiveness of our projects, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including drilling oversight, logging, and in-situ testing.
- Perform geotechnical analyses for foundations (shallow and deep), retaining walls, slopes, and embankments.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical engineering reports, including recommendations for foundation design, earthwork, and ground improvement.
- Develop geotechnical design specifications and drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing contractor submittals and addressing field issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical specialization.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, gINT, LPILE).
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geological principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct field work, including travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience with complex infrastructure projects (e.g., transportation, water resources, energy).
- Familiarity with local geology and geotechnical challenges in the Texas Gulf Coast region.
- Experience with numerical modeling of geotechnical problems.
- Project management experience or demonstrated ability to lead tasks.
