Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically fit individuals to join our team as Garden Waste Loaders for the upcoming Fall/Winter season. This temporary position is vital for helping Grand Forks residents manage their seasonal yard waste. You will be responsible for the collection and loading of various organic materials, ensuring efficient and safe operations. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for local, temporary work with an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually load garden waste, including leaves, branches, and other organic materials, onto collection vehicles.
- Operate basic hand tools safely and efficiently as required.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Assist in the proper maneuvering and positioning of collection vehicles as needed, under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding daily tasks and any issues encountered.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
- Adhere to collection schedules and routes.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions (cold, rain, snow).
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor labor.
- Experience working with garden waste or landscaping materials.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (though not always required for loader role, can be beneficial).
