Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Terminal Gate Coordinator to manage the flow of freight and equipment through our terminal gate in Greensboro, NC. This is a critical administrative and operational role focused entirely within the terminal premises, ensuring smooth and accurate processing without any road work responsibilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a structured environment, possess excellent organizational skills, and be committed to maintaining high standards of operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process incoming and outgoing freight and equipment at the terminal gate.
  • Verify documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments, including bills of lading and manifests.
  • Utilize computer systems and software to record gate transactions and update inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with truck drivers, dispatch, and other terminal personnel.
  • Conduct visual inspections of equipment for damage or discrepancies at the gate.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols at the terminal entrance/exit.
  • Assist with problem-solving and provide support for any gate-related issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized gate area.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to drivers and internal stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a logistics, transportation, or administrative role.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of freight documentation (e.g., bills of lading).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Prior experience working in a terminal or warehouse gate environment.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field (Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration).
