Job Description
Join Saint Luke’s Health System as a Front Office Specialist with a key focus on medical billing. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional administrative support and ensuring smooth operational flow within our clinic. Your expertise in medical billing processes will be crucial for accurate patient account management, claims processing, and financial integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients warmly and efficiently, verifying insurance and patient demographic information.
- Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and referrals with precision.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, accurately posting payments.
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with billing regulations.
- Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and re-submissions in a timely manner.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing, insurance, and account statements.
- Maintain patient records with strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Proven experience with medical billing and coding principles (e.g., CPT, ICD-10).
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and practice management software.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification in Medical Office Administration, Medical Billing, or a related field.
- Experience with Epic EMR system.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
