Job Description
Are you eager to launch your career in the dynamic world of global shipping and logistics? Maersk is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Forwarding Aide to join our team in Norfolk. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with little to no prior experience who are keen to learn the intricacies of international freight forwarding. You will play a crucial supporting role in our operations, assisting with administrative tasks, data management, and coordinating logistics to ensure the smooth flow of goods worldwide. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of accurate shipping records, tariffs, and client information.
- Support the coordination of freight movements, including booking shipments and tracking cargo statuses.
- Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal departments to provide updates and resolve inquiries.
- Prepare and process essential shipping documentation, such as Bills of Lading, invoices, and customs forms.
- Learn and apply international freight forwarding regulations, procedures, and company policies.
- Perform general administrative duties, including filing, scanning, and managing office supplies.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, actively seeking opportunities to learn and assist.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and concise interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for daily tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Eagerness and a strong desire to learn about global logistics and international shipping operations.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
