Job Description
Are you passionate about food and looking for an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, fun environment? KERB Events Ltd. is seeking an enthusiastic Food Truck Chef’s Assistant to join our energetic team in Shoreditch. This isn’t just a job; it’s an adventure in street food, where you’ll learn the ropes from experienced chefs, contribute to creating amazing dishes, and enjoy the buzz of London’s best food markets. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and managing waste.
- Help with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, and rotating stock.
- Support during service by plating dishes, packing orders, and ensuring high standards of food presentation.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe and clean cooking environment.
- Assist with loading and unloading the food truck for events and daily operations.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere, offering help where needed.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment (even home cooking counts!).
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one quickly).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods and ingredients.
