Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to lead our financial operations and strategy in the UK. This pivotal role involves overseeing all financial aspects, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, to support the company’s growth objectives and ensure financial stability. The Finance Director will be a key member of the senior leadership team, providing critical insights and guidance on financial performance and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
- Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
- Manage the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and tax obligations.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and investment portfolios to optimize financial resources.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing robust internal controls.
- Drive cost efficiency initiatives and profitability improvements across the organisation.
- Liaise with external auditors, bankers, and other financial stakeholders.
Required Skills
- ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification (or equivalent international certification)
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within financial services.
- Proven track record of strategic financial planning and execution.
- Deep understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP) and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with large multinational corporations.
- Proficiency with advanced financial modelling and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
