Job Description
Join the BrightView team as a Fence Post Hole Digger and contribute to beautiful and functional outdoor spaces. This is a physically demanding role requiring strength, stamina, and a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. You will be responsible for manually digging and preparing post holes for fencing installations, ensuring proper depth and alignment as per project specifications. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount. This role is crucial for the structural integrity of our landscaping projects and requires a reliable and hardworking individual. Training will be provided, but prior experience with heavy labor or landscaping is a plus. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually dig post holes to specified depths and widths using hand tools like post hole diggers, shovels, and crowbars.
- Clear debris, rocks, and other obstructions from post holes.
- Measure and mark post locations accurately according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
- Assist with the setting and securing of fence posts, ensuring proper alignment and verticality.
- Operate small power tools and equipment as needed, such as augers, following safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper tool storage and site cleanup.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned on various landscaping projects.
Required Skills
- Physical strength and stamina for demanding outdoor work.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs regularly) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or heavy labor.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools used in landscaping and construction.
