Job Description

Join the FedEx Freight team as a Dock Associate and play a crucial role in our logistics operations. In this full-time W2 employment position, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe loading, unloading, and sorting of freight within our terminal. This role is physically demanding and requires a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. You will utilize various material handling equipment and follow established procedures to ensure timely and accurate freight movement. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Sort and stage freight according to destination, ensuring accurate placement.
  • Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the dock.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Operate scanning equipment to track freight movement.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy freight (up to 75 lbs regularly, more with equipment).
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a warehouse/dock environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
  • Prior experience in a freight, warehouse, or logistics setting.
  • Valid driver's license.
