Job Description

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and innovative Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations at our prestigious Baie-Comeau property. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced culinary professional ready to take on a leadership role in a world-class luxury setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchens, from menu development and ingredient sourcing to team management and upholding the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Develop and implement innovative seasonal menus that reflect local flavors and international trends.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain stringent standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
  • Control food and labor costs to meet budgetary targets.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director on strategic planning and promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships.
  • Introduce new culinary techniques and trends to enhance the dining experience.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional culinary creativity and expertise in various cuisines.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP certification preferred).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
  • A strong passion for food, quality, and guest satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in English; French language skills are an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management.
  • Experience working in an international culinary environment.
