Job Description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in people’s lives? Bluebird Care Norwich is seeking Domiciliary Care Workers to join our expanding team. This vital role involves providing direct care and support to our customers in their own homes, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being. You will assist with personal care, medication support, meal preparation, domestic tasks, and companionship, helping our customers to live as independently as possible. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced carers and those new to the care sector who possess the right values and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Administer or prompt medication as per care plans and training.
  • Prepare and assist with meals, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
  • Perform light domestic duties and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging in meaningful activities.
  • Support customers with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment.
  • Accurately record and report on customer care and any changes in their condition.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care setting (e.g., care assistant, support worker).
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Dementia care training.
