Job Description
As a Cybersecurity Dataset Annotator, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of Google’s cybersecurity AI models. You will be responsible for meticulously reviewing, categorizing, and annotating large datasets related to cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security events. This 100% remote position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, and the ability to work independently to ensure high-quality data annotation. Your contributions will directly impact the development of advanced security solutions that protect users and systems globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze various cybersecurity data inputs, including network logs, threat intelligence reports, malware samples, and security alerts.
- Accurately annotate and label data points according to predefined guidelines and taxonomies for machine learning model training.
- Identify and categorize different types of cyber threats, attack vectors, and security incidents.
- Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to refine annotation guidelines and improve data quality.
- Maintain consistency and accuracy in all annotation tasks, ensuring adherence to project standards.
- Provide feedback on annotation tools and processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and mitigation techniques.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts (e.g., malware, phishing, network security, common attack types).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex guidelines precisely.
- Proficiency in data annotation tools or similar data entry platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or equivalent.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Previous experience in data annotation, quality assurance, or data labeling roles, especially within a technical domain.
