Job Description
Princess Cruises is seeking talented and versatile musicians to join our world-class entertainment teams aboard our luxury cruise ships. As a Cruise Ship Musician, you will be an integral part of creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, performing in various venues across the ship. Key Responsibilities
- Perform regularly scheduled musical sets in various onboard venues, including lounges, theaters, and deck parties.
- Maintain a diverse and extensive repertoire spanning multiple genres (e.g., jazz, pop, rock, classical, show tunes).
- Collaborate effectively with other musicians, vocalists, and entertainment staff.
- Participate in rehearsals and sound checks to ensure high-quality performances.
- Interact professionally and courteously with guests, maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Adhere to all shipboard policies, safety regulations, and schedules.
- Assist with setup and teardown of musical equipment as needed.
- Be prepared to learn new material and adapt to changing entertainment requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one instrument (e.g., keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet) or strong vocal abilities.
- Extensive repertoire covering various musical styles and eras.
- Excellent sight-reading and improvisation skills.
- Strong stage presence and ability to engage an audience.
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an ensemble.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal music education or equivalent professional training.
- Previous experience performing in a live entertainment setting (e.g., bands, orchestras, theaters, resorts).
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to play multiple instruments or perform as both an instrumentalist and vocalist.
