Job Description

We are seeking an inspirational and visionary Creative Arts Director to lead and expand our comprehensive arts programs across the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Riverside County. This pivotal leadership role is crucial for developing and implementing engaging artistic experiences that foster creativity, self-expression, and skill development in children and teenagers from diverse backgrounds. The Director will be responsible for innovative program design, staff mentorship, cultivating strong community partnerships, and ensuring all arts initiatives align with the Club’s mission and values. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement a diverse curriculum of creative arts programs, including visual arts, performing arts, digital media, and crafts, tailored for various age groups and skill levels.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a dedicated team of part-time arts instructors and volunteers, fostering a collaborative, positive, and supportive environment.
  • Manage program budgets, oversee the procurement of supplies, and ensure the proper maintenance of artistic equipment and facilities.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with local artists, cultural organizations, schools, and community groups to enrich program offerings and expand outreach.
  • Organize and coordinate engaging arts showcases, exhibitions, and performances to celebrate youth achievements and actively involve the community.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through participant feedback, outcome measurement, and data analysis, making data-driven improvements to enhance impact.
  • Ensure all arts programs adhere to stringent safety standards, organizational policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and event planning, specifically to secure funding for arts programs.

Required Skills

  • Proven leadership experience (minimum 5 years) in an arts education or non-profit youth development setting.
  • Strong background and expertise in a variety of artistic disciplines (e.g., painting, sculpture, drama, music, dance, digital arts).
  • Exceptional program development and curriculum design abilities with a focus on youth engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively manage staff and volunteers.
  • Proficiency in budget management, resource allocation, and grant management.
  • Deep commitment to youth development and the mission of the Boys & Girls Club.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Arts Education, Fine Arts, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success with grant writing and fundraising specifically for arts-focused programs.
  • Familiarity with youth development principles, positive youth development, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is highly advantageous for serving our diverse community.
