Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and efficient Ghost Kitchen Food Prepper to join our back-of-house team in Mount Pleasant, SC, for immediate start. This role is crucial to our kitchen’s success, focusing exclusively on preparing ingredients to support multiple virtual restaurant brands operating from a single shared kitchen space. This is a back-of-house only position, with no customer-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily prep lists efficiently and accurately, ensuring all ingredients are portioned, chopped, and stored according to strict recipes and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation at all times, adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP, local health codes).
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, organizing stock, and rotating ingredients to minimize waste.
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and proficiently (knives, slicers, choppers, mixers, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations and timely preparation of food.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including attendance, dress code, and safety protocols.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with common kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
- Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation principles.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (6+ months) in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, or food service setting.
- Food Handler's Permit or Certification (or ability to obtain one upon hire).
- Experience with inventory management and waste reduction techniques.
