Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organised Contract Administrator to join our team in Portsmouth. This role is crucial for managing the lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies, and supporting our project teams. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the administration of various contracts, from initial drafting through to execution and close-out, ensuring smooth operations and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are clearly defined and legally compliant.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records, including changes, communications, and approvals.
- Monitor contract performance and ensure all parties adhere to contractual obligations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual queries and disputes, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and project teams to ensure alignment on contractual matters.
- Identify potential contract risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare reports on contract status, progress, and financial implications for management.
- Assist in the development and improvement of contract management processes and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in contract administration or a related field.
- Strong understanding of contract law principles and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Certification in Contract Management (e.g., NCMA, IACCM).
- Experience with contract management software.
- Knowledge of the defence or aerospace industry contracting standards.
