Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cloakroom Porter to join our vibrant team for evening shifts. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for guests at our high-profile events and social gatherings. You will be the first and last point of contact for many of our patrons, responsible for the efficient and secure handling of their belongings while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanour. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, social environment and possess excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet all guests as they arrive and depart, offering assistance with their belongings.
- Efficiently and securely check in and check out coats, bags, and other items using a numbering system.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the cloakroom area throughout the shift.
- Address guest inquiries and provide directions or general information about the venue.
- Monitor the cloakroom for any suspicious activity or unattended items and report as necessary.
- Handle lost and found items in accordance with company policy.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure smooth event operations.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly and approachable attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a busy, high-pressure environment.
- High level of reliability and punctuality, particularly for evening shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospitality, retail, or customer-facing role.
- Familiarity with event operations or high-volume venues.
- Basic knowledge of local attractions or events in Chesterfield.
