Job Description
Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic 14-year-old with a deep love for animals? Black Hills Pet Center is seeking a Dog Daycare Aide to join our vibrant team! This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fun, pet-centric environment. You’ll assist our experienced staff in supervising playgroups, ensuring the safety and comfort of our canine guests, and contributing to the overall cleanliness and organization of our facility. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising dog playgroups, ensuring a safe and harmonious environment.
- Engage with dogs through play, petting, and positive reinforcement.
- Help with feeding and watering pets according to their schedules and dietary needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of daycare areas, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing.
- Replenish water bowls and ensure fresh water is always available.
- Support senior staff in managing dog entries and exits.
- Report any unusual pet behavior or concerns to a supervisor immediately.
- Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures for pet handling.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and enthusiasm for dogs and all animals.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and promptly.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
- Comfortable working in an active environment with various dog breeds and sizes.
- Excellent observation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience owning or caring for personal pets.
- Basic understanding of dog body language (willingness to learn more is key!).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.
