Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Podiatry Clinic Assistant to join our thriving team in Windsor. This crucial role involves supporting our Podiatrists in delivering exceptional foot care services, with a particular focus on assisting elderly patients. You will play a vital role in preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments, managing patient flow, and providing comfort and reassurance. This is a hands-on clinical position that requires empathy, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available and sterilised according to clinical protocols.
  • Assist Podiatrists during patient consultations and procedures, including preparing dressings and instruments.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards, including cleaning and sterilising instruments and equipment.
  • Welcome and prepare patients for their appointments, ensuring their comfort and addressing any immediate needs, with a special focus on elderly patients.
  • Manage patient records, appointments, and general administrative tasks as required.
  • Educate patients on basic foot care practices and post-treatment instructions under the guidance of a Podiatrist.
  • Replenish stock and maintain inventory of clinical supplies.
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and safe clinical environment at all times.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly individuals.
  • A strong sense of empathy and patience.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team.
  • Basic computer literacy for administrative tasks.
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Understanding and commitment to patient confidentiality and data protection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare support role (e.g., healthcare assistant, clinic assistant).
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with elderly or vulnerable populations.
