Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Clinical Data Clerk to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of clinical data, which is vital for patient care, research, and operational efficiency. This position requires a strong commitment to data quality, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual environment. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter and update clinical data into various electronic health record (EHR) and database systems.
- Perform routine data validation and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies by liaising with clinical staff and other stakeholders.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all patient and clinical information, adhering to privacy regulations (e.g., FIPPA, PIPA).
- Generate standard and ad-hoc reports from clinical databases as required for analysis and reporting.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data entry guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely and accurate data submission.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with data management best practices and system updates.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with accurate and efficient data entry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems or similar clinical databases.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
- Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality principles within a healthcare context.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Post-secondary education in health administration, medical office assistant, or a related field.
- Experience with specific EHR systems used by Fraser Health (e.g., Meditech, Cerner).
