Job Description

Are you meticulous about quality and passionate about food? Publix Super Markets is seeking a dedicated Food Service Quality Rater to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. In this routine role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation across our prepared food departments. This position involves regular inspections, adherence to strict guidelines, and accurate reporting to maintain the Publix promise of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine visual inspections of food products in various departments (e.g., deli, bakery, produce) for freshness, appearance, and quality.
  • Verify compliance with established food safety and quality control standards and procedures.
  • Monitor temperatures, packaging, and shelf life of perishable items.
  • Document findings accurately and promptly, reporting any discrepancies or issues to management.
  • Ensure proper labeling and display of products according to company guidelines.
  • Provide feedback and observations to department managers regarding quality improvements.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and hygiene protocols.
  • Assist with inventory checks related to product quality if needed.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to strict guidelines.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift light to moderate items for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service, retail, or quality control.
