Job Description
Are you a passionate brass musician with a knack for inspiring the next generation of rockstars? School of Rock Wesley Chapel is seeking an energetic and dedicated Brass Teacher with a focus on Trumpet and Trombone for weekend instruction. If you love sharing your musical expertise and thrive in a dynamic, performance-based learning environment, we want to hear from you! This role involves developing individualized lesson plans, preparing students for live performances, and fostering a love for music within a fun and supportive atmosphere. You will be instrumental in guiding students from foundational techniques to advanced performance skills, helping them build confidence on stage and in their musical journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, individualized and group brass instruction (trumpet and trombone) to students.
- Develop customized lesson plans tailored to student needs, goals, and skill levels.
- Prepare students for live performances, including selecting repertoire and leading rehearsals.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school management.
- Assist students in proper instrument care and maintenance.
- Participate in periodic staff meetings and professional development sessions.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated expert proficiency in Trumpet and Trombone.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching brass instruments to various age groups.
- Strong understanding of music theory, improvisation, and performance techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for music education and inspiring young musicians.
- Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Performance, or a related field.
- Experience performing in various musical settings (bands, orchestras, ensembles).
- Familiarity with the School of Rock curriculum and teaching methodology.
- Experience teaching other brass instruments (e.g., French horn, tuba) is a plus.
- Prior experience working in a music academy or school setting.
