Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Baggage Handler to join our high-volume hotel team in Rotherham. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for our guests from the moment they arrive. You will be responsible for efficiently managing guest luggage, assisting with transportation, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, offering immediate assistance.
- Safely and efficiently transport guest luggage to and from rooms, vehicles, and designated storage areas.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage from vehicles, ensuring careful handling.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the luggage storage area and bell carts.
- Provide accurate information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions when requested.
- Assist with other guest service duties as needed, including directing guests and assisting with accessibility requirements.
- Handle high volumes of luggage promptly and carefully, especially during peak hours and busy check-in/check-out periods.
- Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 25kg) regularly.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills in English to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service role.
- Familiarity with Rotherham and surrounding areas to provide local recommendations.
- Experience operating luggage carts or similar equipment safely.
- A valid UK driving license (advantageous, but not essential).
