Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Apple Hardware Systems Aide to provide essential technical design support to our engineering teams. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Apple hardware systems crucial to our product design and development processes. You will work closely with design engineers and IT professionals to ensure seamless operation of our specialized hardware and software environments, helping to maintain our creative and productive workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for Apple hardware (Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook Pro) used in design and engineering workflows.
- Assist design engineers with hardware setup, configuration, and software installation specific to design tools.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of Apple workstations and peripherals.
- Document hardware configurations, technical issues, and resolution procedures comprehensively.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve complex hardware-related problems.
- Manage hardware inventory, including tracking assets, ordering components, and facilitating repairs.
- Ensure optimal performance and availability of critical Apple hardware systems within the design studio.
- Support the integration of new hardware and peripherals into existing design infrastructure.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in macOS operating systems and Apple hardware platforms (Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook Pro).
- Basic understanding of computer hardware components, diagnostics, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with design software environments (e.g., CAD applications, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a technical support role, ideally within a design, engineering, or creative industry.
- Experience with IT ticketing systems and asset management.
- Basic knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi).
- Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or similar certifications.
