Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mortgage Loan Assistant. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity within our mortgage division for someone eager to start a career in financial services. We provide comprehensive training to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to support our Loan Officers effectively. You will play a crucial administrative role in the mortgage application process, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional client experiences. This position is bank-based, offering a collaborative and structured work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Mortgage Loan Officers, including preparing loan applications and disclosures.
  • Assist in the collection and organization of client documents (e.g., income statements, tax returns, credit reports).
  • Communicate professionally with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on loan status.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and loan records.
  • Coordinate with various internal departments, including underwriting and processing, to facilitate loan progression.
  • Review loan files for completeness and accuracy, identifying any missing information or discrepancies.
  • Support the scheduling of client meetings and manage calendars for Loan Officers.
  • Respond to client inquiries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adhere to all regulatory compliance standards and internal company policies.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • A keen desire to learn and grow within the financial services industry.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous administrative or customer service experience (internships count!).
  • Familiarity with financial terminology or processes.
  • Experience using CRM software or loan origination systems (LOS).
