Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Airport Cargo Pickers to join our high-security team at Aberdeen Airport. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and secure handling of cargo, adhering to the strictest aviation security protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, sort, and process various types of cargo according to manifest details and security procedures.
- Perform thorough security checks and inspections of all cargo items, identifying and reporting any suspicious or uncompliant packages.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload cargo from aircraft, trucks, and storage facilities, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Maintain meticulous records of cargo movements, discrepancies, and security incidents.
- Collaborate with security personnel and customs officials to ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, airport regulations, and international security standards.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet tight deadlines and operational targets.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a logistics, warehouse, or airport environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-security setting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and inventory management.
- Must be able to pass a rigorous background check, criminal record check, and obtain an airport security pass.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Forklift Operator license (Reach Truck and Counterbalance).
- Previous experience with aviation cargo handling and security protocols.
- Knowledge of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
- Valid UK driving license.
