Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Garden Play Equipment Assembler to join our growing team in Headingley, Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to creating safe and engaging outdoor play spaces for communities. The role involves the assembly, installation, and maintenance of various garden play equipment, requiring a keen eye for detail and adherence to safety standards. You will primarily work outdoors in all weather conditions, ensuring high-quality workmanship for every project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and install a variety of garden play equipment, including swings, slides, climbing frames, and other structures, following detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Ensure all installations meet stringent safety standards, including EN 1176 and other relevant UK regulations.
- Utilise a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on existing play equipment.
- Transport materials and equipment to various job sites within the Leeds area.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment on site.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and project managers to complete tasks on schedule.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in assembly, construction, or a related manual trade.
- Proficiency in using common hand and power tools (drills, saws, wrenches, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- A strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically in playground installation or landscaping.
- Relevant certifications in construction, carpentry, or health and safety (e.g., CSCS card).
- First Aid certification.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a related trade.
