Job Description
We are seeking a talented and imaginative Foley Artist to join our dynamic sound team. The ideal candidate will have a keen ear for detail, a deep understanding of sound design for film and television, and a passion for creating immersive auditory experiences. You will be responsible for performing and recording custom sound effects that enhance the narrative and emotional impact of our projects, working within a state-of-the-art studio environment. This role is perfect for someone who loves to experiment, has a strong collaborative spirit, and is dedicated to the craft of Foley art.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and record a wide range of custom sound effects (e.g., footsteps, props, cloth movement) in sync with on-screen visuals for film and television projects.
- Collaborate closely with Sound Supervisors, Re-recording Mixers, and other members of the audio team to achieve the desired creative vision.
- Source, maintain, and organize a diverse collection of props and surfaces for Foley performances.
- Operate studio equipment, including microphones, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and recording devices, to capture high-quality audio.
- Edit, clean, and synchronize recorded Foley tracks to picture, ensuring seamless integration and precision.
- Contribute creative ideas and solutions to enhance the overall soundscape of productions.
- Maintain a detailed log of all recorded sounds and project assets.
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques in Foley and sound design.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Foley Artist or a related sound post-production role.
- Strong practical ability in performing a wide range of realistic and stylized sound effects.
- Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, or Logic Pro.
- Excellent rhythmic timing and synchronization skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen ear for sonic nuance.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment.
- Solid understanding of microphone placement, recording techniques, and audio signal flow.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Film Production, Music Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced audio editing and processing techniques.
- Portfolio demonstrating previous Foley or sound design work for film/TV.
- Knowledge of various film and television genres and their specific sound requirements.
- Familiarity with sound libraries and asset management systems.
