Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Actuary or Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Bristol. You will contribute to key projects across various actuarial functions, including reserving, pricing, capital modeling, and risk management, utilizing your quantitative skills to drive strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed actuarial calculations and analysis for reserving, pricing, capital, and financial reporting.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial models and tools.
- Prepare and present actuarial reports, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Assist in the production of Solvency II technical provisions and capital requirements.
- Support the validation and review of actuarial assumptions and methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, finance, and risk.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and actuarial best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong progress towards IFoA (or equivalent) actuarial qualifications (e.g., FIA/FFA, ASA/FSA, CERA).
- Proven experience in an actuarial role, preferably within insurance or financial services.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes, R, Python, SAS, SQL, Excel VBA).
- Solid understanding of actuarial principles, financial reporting, and risk management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- FIA/FFA qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with Solvency II or other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Prior experience in general insurance or life insurance.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
