Job Description

We are seeking a enthusiastic and empathetic Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team at our Wuse care home. This is an entry-level, full-time position ideal for individuals passionate about enriching the lives of seniors. As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and leading engaging activities that promote physical, mental, and social well-being for our residents. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and facilitate a diverse range of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents.
  • Engage residents in both group and individual activities tailored to their interests, abilities, and needs.
  • Encourage resident participation and provide gentle encouragement to ensure everyone feels included.
  • Assess resident interests and preferences to continually update and improve activity programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident attendance and participation in activities.
  • Manage and maintain activity supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe and tidy environment.
  • Collaborate with care staff and families to understand resident needs and preferences.
  • Assist with decorating the care home for special events and holidays.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to developing engaging activities.
  • Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in working with elderly individuals.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to plan and execute multiple activities.
  • Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and program planning.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (even volunteer) in a care home, senior living, or community setting.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Relevant certifications or training in activity coordination or recreational therapy.
