Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable 15-year-old teens to join our team as a Laundry Aide at our local nursing home facility in New Orleans. This is a fantastic opportunity for young individuals to gain valuable work experience in a supportive and caring environment. As a Laundry Aide, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our residents have clean and comfortable linens, contributing directly to their well-being and a pleasant living atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect soiled laundry from resident rooms and designated areas.
- Sort laundry by type and color, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Operate commercial washing and drying equipment safely and efficiently.
- Fold, iron (if required), and organize clean linens, towels, and resident clothing.
- Distribute clean laundry to appropriate resident rooms and linen closets.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including safety and hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Attention to detail for sorting and folding.
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and pushing carts.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
